How the “pros” store their cigars

June 2009 By Luke One Comment

Tampa Humidor SalernoThere is much debate on desktop humidors vs. cabinets vs. coolidors, so I began to wonder how the better-known cigar smokers and writers stored their cigars.  While I myself keep my cigars in a 300 count desktop humidor (the one in the picture to the left, in fact), stacking dozens of these on eachother surely isn’t the best solution.  While I’ll likely talk about my humidor situation in future posts, I wanted today to show what David Diaz (of StogieFresh) does for his cigars.  He has recently finished a series of 5 youtube videos detailing how he stores his impressive cigar collection. I was quite surprised that in fact he has a collection of humidors storing a variety of cigars.  No massive cabinet (although he has a few of those) or walk-in, but rather a series of desktop, cabinet, and travel humidors.  For convenience, I’ve embedded the first video in the series here.  The rest may be found as follows (video 1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
