Ryan – An electric shaver will cause ingrown hairs because the electric shavers cut multiple ways, so I am guessing you have had problems with ingrown hairs in your 8 years using that shaver.

The best thing to do is use a hot towel along with some great pretreatments. that is what I do for my sensitive skin and it works great.

I had been a electric razor man for roughly 8 years. The thing that always stopped me from using a blade was my sensitive skin. I sought out all the information and came upon the gentlemen’s way of shaving. The wet shave. Unbelievable results. Go out and buy a DE safety razor, a high quality badger hair brush, shaving soap, and non alcohol based after shave. What a treat shaving is now. The guys at Momentum Grooming in Downtown Vancouver were very helpful. I highly recommend going there.
