I love how Ronseal dealt with their haters over twitter in this hilarious viral video that they recently released.
When taunted by their haters on social media about them not staying true to their tagline: “Does Exactly What It Says on the Tin”, DIY giant Ronseal decides to drop it and replaces it with a very specific strapline to make up for it.
Over the last few weeks, customers and trolls jumping on the bandwagon have been lobbying on social media for bosses to get the strapline changed. They point out that the products now come in modern containers like tubes and tubs, which means the tagline isn’t as accurate as it could be.
To make amends, the brand creates a video that highlights Ronseal’s honest and straightforward way of doing things. With over 200 different products in the DIY range, they replace tin with the according containers that these products come in. In excruiciating and complicated detail.
Now that’s a reminder to be careful what you wish for!
